📌About the Event

PM YASASVI Central Sector Scheme of Top Class Education in College for OBC, EBC and DNT Students is a Government of India scholarship that supports meritorious students from OBC, EBC and DNT categories in pursuing higher education after Class 12. The scheme provides full financial support for students admitted to notified top institutions such as IITs, IIMs, NITs, AIIMS, NLUs, NIFTs, NIDs and other approved institutions.


ℹ️ Scholarship Details

  • Mode of application: Online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
  • Academic year: 2026–27
  • Scheme type: Merit-based central sector scholarship
  • Applicable course level: Higher education after Class 12
  • Applicable institutions: Notified “Top Class” institutions approved under the scheme, including major government and selected high-ranking institutions.
  • Scholarship payment mode: Benefits are paid to students through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), and students must pay the applicable fee to the institute after receiving the scholarship amount.

🎯 Eligibility & Rules

  • Eligible categories: Students must belong to OBC, EBC or DNT category.
  • Family income limit: Total annual family income from all sources must be up to ₹2.5 lakh.
  • Education requirement: Student must have secured admission in a full-time prescribed course at a notified institution.
  • Admission requirement: Selection is based on the institution’s general admission criteria and entrance/admission merit list.
  • Slot-based selection: Scholarship is limited to the number of slots allocated to each institution and course.
  • If applications exceed slots: Preference is given to top students in the inter-se merit list; if there is a tie for the last slot, the student with lower family income gets preference.
  • Girls’ reservation: 30% of slots in each institution are reserved for eligible girl students. If enough eligible girl students are not available, the slots may be transferred to eligible boys.
  • Sibling rule: The benefit cannot be given to more than 2 siblings in one family.
  • Renewal rule: Students must apply every year, including renewal years, and the scholarship continues till course completion subject to satisfactory performance.
  • Termination rule: The scholarship may be terminated if the student is not promoted to the next semester or class.
  • Documents required: Students need to upload documents such as income certificate, caste/category certificate, bank account details, admission rank and fee details on NSP.

🏆 Prize Details and Value

  • Tuition fee support: Full tuition fee and non-refundable charges are covered, with a ceiling of ₹2 lakh per year for private sector institutions.
  • Flying course support: For private sector flying clubs offering Commercial Pilot Training and Type Rating Courses, support is capped at ₹3.72 lakh per year.
  • Living expenses: ₹3,000 per month is provided to selected students.
  • Books and stationery: ₹5,000 per year is provided.
  • Laptop/computer support: One-time assistance of up to ₹45,000 is provided for a laptop/computer with accessories like UPS and printer.
  • Course completion support: Once awarded, the scholarship can continue till completion of the course, subject to renewal and satisfactory performance.
