📌About the Event

PM YASASVI Scholarship 2026 stands for PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India. It is a Government of India scholarship scheme for OBC, EBC, and DNT students to support quality education at school and college level. The scheme is run under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and includes sub-schemes such as Top Class School Education and Top Class College Education.


ℹ️ Event Details

  • Mode of application: Online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
  • Academic year: 2026–27 applications are open from 1 June 2026 on NSP.
  • Applicable categories: OBC, EBC, and DNT students.
  • Selection mode: Merit-based selection, based on academic performance and scheme rules.
  • Application requirement: Students need One Time Registration (OTR) on NSP before applying. OTR is a unique 14-digit number linked to Aadhaar/Aadhaar Enrolment ID.

🎯 Eligibility & Rules

  • Category: Open to OBC, EBC, and DNT students.
  • Income limit: Annual family income should be up to ₹2.5 lakh.
  • Course requirement: Student must have secured admission in a full-time prescribed course in a notified institution.
  • Institution examples: Eligible institutions may include IITs, IIMs, NITs, IIITs, AIIMS, NIFT, NID, National Law Universities, and other notified institutions.
  • Selection basis: If eligible applicants exceed available slots, selection is based on inter-se merit as per the admission criteria of the course.
  • Tie-breaker: If students have equal marks for the last available slot, preference is given to the student with lower family income.
  • Girls’ reservation: 30% of slots are reserved for eligible girl students.
  • Sibling rule: The benefit is not provided to more than 2 siblings in a family.

🏆 Prize Details and Value

  • Tuition and non-refundable charges: Covered, with a ceiling of ₹2 lakh per annum for private sector institutions.
  • Flying clubs: Up to ₹3.72 lakh per annum for private sector flying clubs for Commercial Pilot Training and Type Rating Courses.
  • Living expenses: ₹3,000 per month.
  • Books and stationery: ₹5,000 per annum.
  • Laptop/computer support: Up to ₹45,000 as one-time assistance.
  • Payment mode: Scholarship amount is released through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
