ROBOCHIPX ’26 is a premium, 24-hour national-tier intercollegiate hardware and computing innovation challenge organized by the Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology (RIT), Chennai.
The event acts as an intense 24-hour innovation incubator, bridging the gap between autonomous robotics engineering, embedded systems, and VLSI circuit architecture. Participants are challenged to design, route, model, and debug functional physical prototypes or high-performance silicon simulations under strict time constraints.
📅 Critical Timelines & Operations
- Registration Launch Gate: Opened June 15, 2026
- On-Spot Registration Window: Available on-site on July 9, 2026.
- Hackathon Launch & Prompt Release: Thursday, July 9, 2026
- Project Evaluation & Awards Ceremony: Friday, July 10, 2026.

🎛️ Specialized Challenge Tracks
The competition operates across three core hardware and software domains. Each track follows a strict team configuration and entry fee model:
1. Robotics Track
- Core Mandate: Building intelligent machines. Teams must design autonomous robotic solutions combining microcontrollers, feedback control loops, sensor fusion, and real-time decision-making arrays to solve dynamic environments.
- Roster Size: Strictly 4 Members per team.
- Entry Cost: ₹300 per team.
2. Chip Design Track
- Core Mandate: Shaping the future of computing through advanced VLSI, digital system design, and Hardware Description Languages (HDLs like Verilog/VHDL). Teams focus on creating optimized, low-power, high-efficiency integrated circuit architectures.
- Roster Size: Strictly 4 Members per team.
- Entry Cost: ₹300 per team.
3. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Track
- Core Mandate: Developing intelligent systems, computer vision layers, or predictive Machine Learning models capable of driving real-time edge hardware computation and solving high-impact operational bottlenecks.
- Roster Size: Strictly 4 Members per team.
- Entry Cost: ₹300 per team.
