📌About the Event
SRCAS Hackathon 3.0, titled “What’s the Next Big Idea?”, is a national-level innovation challenge organised by the Programming Club of Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science, Coimbatore. Conducted in collaboration with iGenius AI, an authorised Microsoft partner, the hackathon invites college students to develop scalable, technology-driven solutions addressing real-world problems connected to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
ℹ️ Event Details
- Level: National-level student hackathon.
- Theme: Open innovation and technology-based solutions aligned with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- Problem statements: Teams may select an example challenge provided by the organisers or propose their own original problem statement connected to an SDG.
- Mode of conduct: Hybrid selection process with an online idea submission followed by an offline grand finale.
- Preliminary round: Teams must submit their proposed solution using the official PPT template available on the event portal.
- Final round: Shortlisted teams will participate in a 24-hour offline hackathon and convert their proposed idea into a functional product or solution.
- Finale venue: Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science, Nava India, Avinashi Road, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
📅 Important Dates
- Registration opening date: June 7, 2026, according to the official event timeline.
- Last date for registration and idea PPT submission: July 25, 2026.
- Shortlisted teams announcement: August 7, 2026.
- Grand finale: August 14, 2026.
- Duration of the grand finale: 24 hours, continuing into August 15, 2026.
🎯 Eligibility & Rules
- Who can participate:
- The hackathon is open to undergraduate, postgraduate and engineering students from colleges across India.
- Students from arts, science, commerce, engineering and other academic disciplines may participate.
- Participants must register as a team.
- Each team must have a minimum of two and a maximum of four members.
- Team members may belong to different academic disciplines.
- All members of a team must belong to the same college or educational institution.
🏆 Benefits for the Participants
- Total prize pool: More than ₹1,80,000.
- Cash prizes will be awarded to the top-performing teams.
- The top three teams will qualify for a Science and Innovation Competition in Singapore.
- Expenses for the Singapore opportunity will be fully covered, according to the official event portal.
- Outstanding performers may also receive opportunities for global internships.
- Certificates are listed among the rewards for participants or recognised teams.
