📌About the Event
The World Sudoku & Puzzle Championship 2026 is a prestigious international mind-sport event bringing together leading Sudoku and logic-puzzle solvers from around the world. The championship will combine the 19th World Sudoku Championship (WSC) and the 33rd World Puzzle Championship (WPC) in Kolkata. Participants will compete through challenging individual and team rounds designed to test logical reasoning, accuracy, speed and problem-solving ability.

- 11 October 2026: Opening ceremony and question-and-answer session
- 12 October 2026: World Sudoku Championship – Competition Day 1
- 13 October 2026: World Sudoku Championship – Competition Day 2, award ceremony and World Puzzle Championship arrivals
- 14 October 2026: Excursion or leisure day, followed by the World Puzzle Championship opening ceremony and question-and-answer session
- 15 October 2026: World Puzzle Championship – Competition Day 1
- 16 October 2026: World Puzzle Championship – Competition Day 2
- 17 October 2026: World Puzzle Championship – Competition Day 3 and award ceremony
- 18 October 2026: Departure
- 15 August 2026: Last date for the currently published participation-fee slab
- 16 August 2026 onward: Published participation fees will increase by 10%
🎯 Eligibility & Rules
- Who can participate:
- Participants must generally be associated with a national member or personal membership of the World Puzzle Federation.
- Competitors should contact their country’s official World Puzzle Federation member organisation for selection and registration guidance.
- WPF member countries are expected to conduct open national qualifying competitions to select their official representatives.
- National-team competitors register through their respective WPF member organisations.
- Solvers who are not part of an official national team may be allowed to participate as guest solvers or under another eligible participation category.
- Individuals from countries without a listed WPF member may contact the organisers directly for assistance.
🏆 Benefits for the Participants
- Winners will receive championship titles and official awards in the World Sudoku Championship and World Puzzle Championship.
- Awards will be presented across official individual and team categories.
- Special-category prizes are expected for:
- Competitors under 18
- Competitors over 50
- Newcomers
- Official A-teams will be eligible for the championship’s official team awards.
- Unofficial teams may receive additional unofficial prizes.
- The published participation package includes competition materials, puzzle booklets and access to the award ceremonies.
- The registration package also covers accommodation, meals, coffee, Wi-Fi, eligible airport transfers and a free sightseeing option.
