The XTF Global Innovation Challenge 2026 is a prestigious international research and prototyping competition organized by the Xccelerate Technologies Foundation (XTF), a Geneva-headquartered independent non-profit.
The initiative connects students, scientists, and educators from over 60 countries to build, prove, and ship breakthrough scientific research and technological solutions without paywalls or geographic entry barriers.

🎯 2026 Innovation Tracks
Participants compete individually or in teams of up to 4 across eight dedicated tracks:
- AI (Artificial Intelligence & ML): Foundation models, alignment, mechanistic interpretability, and applied ML.
- CL (Climate & Sustainability): Carbon removal, clean energy, new materials, and climate adaptation.
- BX (BioTech & Health): Synthetic biology, diagnostics, neuroscience, longevity, and global health.
- RB (Robotics & Hardware): Autonomous systems, mechatronics, precision sensing, and agritech.
- QC (Quantum & Computing): Quantum information, novel architectures, photonics, and post-quantum cryptography.
- SP (Space & Aerospace): CubeSats, propulsion systems, planetary science, and remote sensing.
- CS (Cybersecurity & Privacy): Cryptography, privacy-preserving computation, and digital rights.
- SI (Social Innovation Tech): Civic tech, accessibility, edtech, and humanitarian engineering.
💰 Prizes, Support & Benefits
- Cash Awards & Seed Grants: Global prize pool including cash prizes, microgrants for compute/lab equipment, and lab residencies.
- Fully-Funded Geneva Trip: XTF covers travel, visa, and accommodation expenses for all 24 finalist teams invited to the Grand Finals in Geneva.
- 1:1 Mentorship Network: Shortlisted teams are matched with expert mentors from a network of over 1,200 scientists and engineers.
- Open-Access Publication: Top 50 research papers are published in the peer-reviewed, open-access XTF Proceedings (CC BY 4.0).
