Role Overview
We are seeking to appoint a Senior Research Analyst to join our Family Office investment team. The role is focused on fundamental equity research, investment due diligence, portfolio support, and capital allocation analysis across listed equities and select special situations.
This is a senior, buy-side research role designed for professionals with a long-term investment orientation, strong analytical depth, and an owners mindset. The position involves close interaction with decision-makers and contributes directly to capital deployment, risk management, and portfolio construction decisions.Key ResponsibilitiesInvestment Research & Due Diligence
Conduct comprehensive fundamental research on listed companies, primarily across mid- and small-cap equities
Build and maintain robust financial models, including three-statement models, valuation frameworks (DCF, relative valuation), and scenario analysis
Assess business quality, industry structure, competitive positioning, management capability, and capital allocation discipline
Analyse sectoral trends, demand drivers, cost structures, regulatory environments, and competitive dynamics
Prepare high-quality investment memoranda articulating thesis, valuation, risk factors, downside analysis, and expected returnsPortfolio Monitoring & Investment Support
Monitor portfolio holdings for financial performance, strategic developments, and fundamental changes
Identify thesis validation or deterioration, emerging risks, and inflection points
Provide analytical support for buy, add, reduce, and exit decisions
Maintain structured research documentation, valuation history, and decision rationaleCapital Allocation & Risk Assessment
Support position sizing, conviction assessment, and portfolio concentration decisions
Evaluate riskreward asymmetry, downside protection, and drawdown scenarios
Conduct post-investment performance and outcome analysis
Assist in monitoring portfolio-level exposure, sector concentration, and correlation risksThematic & Special Situation Analysis
Identify and analyse long-term structural investment themes
Evaluate special situations including capex cycles, restructurings, demergers, and event-driven opportunities
Support assessment of pre-IPO, unlisted, or structured investment opportunities, where relevantCandidate ProfileMandatory Qualifications
CFA Charterholder (mandatory)
612 years of relevant experience in:Buy-side roles (Family Office, PMS, AIF, proprietary investing), orInstitutional-quality sell-side research with demonstrable stock-picking and valuation expertiseTechnical & Analytical Expertise
Strong proficiency in financial modelling, valuation, and financial statement analysis
Deep understanding of:Return on capital and free cash flow dynamicsBalance-sheet strength, leverage, and liquidity riskBusiness cyclicality and operating leverage
Ability to evaluate investments using probability-weighted and downside-focused frameworksSystems & Data Platforms
Hands-on experience with institutional research platforms, including:Bloomberg FactSet or equivalent institutional databases
Ability to source, analyse, and synthesise large datasets efficiently to support investment decisionsProfessional Attributes
