About the Program

The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) invites applications from women students, teachers, scholars, and social activists who are enrolled in or associated with universities and other academic or non-academic institutions for its internship program. Interested candidates can apply through the Ministry’s official portal.

Who Can Apply?

The Ministry of Women & Child Development internship eligibility is:

• Only women candidates can apply
• Applicants must be students, scholars, teachers, or social activists
• Applicants must be enrolled in or associated with a university, academic institution, or non-academic organization
• Applicants must belong to non-tier-I cities or rural areas of India
• Candidates from Tier-I cities (Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune) are not eligible to apply
• Age limit is 21 to 40 years

How to Apply?

Here’s how you can proceed with the Ministry of Women & Child Development internship application:

• Apply online through the online portal: http://wcd.intern.nic.in/.
• Applicants submit applications two months before the internship, between the 1st and 10th of the month (e.g., 1st–10th March for May–June)
• Selected candidates cannot apply for any future internship terms.

Selection Process

A selection committee reviews all submitted applications for the Ministry of Women and Child Development internship. The Ministry may involve faculty members or subject experts from universities and research institutions during the selection process. Selected candidates receive confirmation from the Ministry for the internship program.

• Fixed stipend of ₹20,000 per month 
• Reimbursement of travel costs for joining and completion of the program (Deluxe/AC Bus/3-Tier AC Train)
• Travel and daily allowance (DA) apply for official tours as per the Government of India rates

• Shared hostel accommodation in Delhi with basic facilities
• Hostel available from 2 days before the start to 2 days after the end of the program
• Interns bear mess charges separately
• Mess charges to be paid by interns
