Approximately 100 percent of BURGER KING restaurants are owned and operated by independent franchisees, many of them family-owned operations that have been in business for decades. Within the APAC region, the company is focusing on the three largest markets in the region - India, China, and Japan. BK entered India in 2014 in partnership with Everstone Capital. As of March 2018, Burger King India has 204 restaurants operating PAN India. The company has an aggressive expansion plan of adding 40-50 restaurants in 2019.
