About DEVI Sansthan (Dignity Education Vision International)
DEVI Sansthan, (Dignity Education Vision International) is a non-profit organisation founded in 1992 by educationist Dr. Sunita Gandhi during her tenure as an Economist at the World Bank, initially focused on grassroots community development, including health camps in villages around Lucknow. From 2014 to 2019, the organization spearheaded Hindi literacy initiatives in Lucknow's slums, created literacy materials, and mobilized 500,000 student volunteers through the "Each One Teach One" campaign, reaching 1.5 million people. During the COVID-19 crisis, DEVI Sansthan developed EdTech literacy solutions and expanded its programs into 30 languages. By 2022, it launched the Accelerating Learning for All (ALfA) program, beginning large-scale implementation in India and forging international partnerships. Its ALfA pedagogy is being implemented in more than 17000 schools all over India, Maldives, Ghana & USA.
