Fairtrade India is a not-for-profit that works to empower farmers and workers in the food and fashion value chains, to promoting sustainable livelihoods for these communities and greater environmental sustainability. Fairtrade India movement is built with the support of civil society, consumers, producer organisations, businesses and government agencies. The movement aims to promote greater social-economic and environmental sustainability and empower many farmers and workers who grow and make our food and clothes. Fairtrade offers producers a better deal and improved terms of trade. It allows them the opportunity to improve their lives and invest in their future, their environment and their communities. Fairtrade offers consumers a powerful way to reduce poverty and ensure environmental sustainability through their everyday buying decisions.
