About Muse

Muse is an NGO founded in 2002, by a group of passionate individuals to work in Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh, towards finding solutions to the pressing needs and challenges faced by the local community, with the vision of enabling them to build a sustainable future for themselves. MUSE focuses on sustainable livelihood, climate change, access to drinking water, sanitation, healthcare, child education, and renewable energy. Ecosphere was founded by Muse in 2009 as the social-enterprise wing to ensure long-term sustainability and replication of various initiatives in Spiti. Ecosphere helps generate revenue from responsible travel and tourism programs in the valley which helps fund various initiatives. It helps to provide direct income for local communities through homestays, guides, and experiential activities. Along with providing opportunities to volunteer and contribute towards supporting and implementing these initiatives.
