About Probo

Probo was founded in 2021 by Sachin Gupta and Ashish Garg, both NIT-K/IIM-C grads who worked together at Uber & Urban Company before their venture. At its heart, Probo is an opinion trading platform building prediction markets for India. On Probo, users can find questions on many topics of their interest, from sports ('Will India win the T20 World Cup?') to news ('Will Cred raise another round of funding by the end of 2023?') to finance ('Will Tesla close the year with > $1T market cap?') and many other categories. Users can swipe yes or no to express their opinion and place trade(s), and by doing so they enter into an event contract with another user on the other side of the trade. Probo is a matching engine that enables the execution of this event contract. Each trade is INR 10, and at the end of the event contract, the user with the correct opinion wins the quantum at stake. It is backed by VCs including Sequoia Capital, Elevation Capital, and Fundamentum Capital.
