About SRIJAN (Self Reliant Initiatives Through Joint Action)

SRIJAN (Self Reliant Initiatives through Joint Action) is a not-for-profit organization, registered, as a public charitable trust with the aim to promote strong self-reliant village organizations, partnerships, and enterprises to enhance people's access to natural resources and their capacity to manage them sustainably. We provide an unparalleled opportunity to professionals with the drive and commitment to make a difference in the lives of the underprivileged. We build the capacity of staff members through in-service training, exposure visits, and sponsorship of international programs by reaching out to villages in fourteen districts in four states, namely Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. SRIJAN is engaged in reducing rural poverty and improving water sustainability. Interventions include rehabilitating tanks, watershed management, introducing water-saving technologies such as drip and sprinklers, the introduction of new livestock breeds and crop varieties.
