About Tinkernauts

Tinkering, or figuring out how something works just by poking at it for a while, is a time-honored technique. At Tinkernauts, we want to leverage this technique to build on children's natural creativity and curiosity through hands-on making, breaking, and exploring in a fun, engaging & safe way. Our mission is "Break it till you Make it" where we encourage children to figure out how things work and develop at an early age the confidence to DIY (do-it-yourself). In doing so, the aim is to not only nurture thoughtful innovators of the future but also consumers who are conscious of the huge environmental impact that throwing things away have vs repairing or repurposing. We want all children to experience the feeling of empowerment that comes with the freedom to explore, create, & imagine supported by a strong community of fellow 'tinkernauts'.
