We believe that the current Indian agricultural supply chain is an unsustainable, poorly organized model because of several reasons - too many stakeholders in the supply chain resulting in multiple exchanges of vegetables, high amounts of wastage, deteriorated vegetable quality, transportation of vegetables around 700-800 km, increases the carbon footprint. Apart from that, we, as consumers, are not aware of the amounts of pesticides and chemicals that go inside the vegetables. Responding to the above-mentioned reasons, we have created the idea of Urban Khet, citizens buy locally grown organic vegetables inside the city.
