The area: Global Business - Strategy and Operations - Reporting and Analytics
At Google, data drives all of our decision-making. The Business Analyst team helps to power Google’s sales support (Google Technical Services) decision making by delivering actionable business intelligence and insights at scale to all levels of leadership. You’ll provide actionable and data driven insights and strategic direction to the Google’s sales support teams. You will partner with functional teams like program management, operations and sales finance teams to measure the business impact of programs and initiatives, as well as help prioritize their efforts.

Business Analysts help serve Google's worldwide user base of more than a billion people. They provide quantitative support, business understanding and a strategic perspective to our partners throughout the Google Technical Services Ads organization. As a data-loving member of the team, you serve as an analytics expert for your partners, using numbers to help them make better decisions. You weave stories with meaningful insight from data. You make critical recommendations for your fellow Googlers in Sales, Sales Support and Sales Operations. As a self-starter, you relish tallying up the numbers one minute and communicating your findings to a business partner the next.
The role: gTech StratOps Intern
As an intern, you work within a diverse team, on challenging projects with high impact during a 8-12 week, full-time paid internship. You will be assigned an intern manager who will help identify project goals, inspire, mentor and support your professional development.
Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Business Analysis team to gather and analyze project requirements
  • Identify problem statement, generate hypotheses by gathering context and solve using data analysis (data gathering, data processing, data summarization, business insights)
  • Develop and automate business intelligence reports. Build and prototype dashboards, as needed, to provide insights
  • Explore and learn statistical modeling skills based on business need
Minimum qualifications:
  • Be currently enrolled in an MBA graduate program, with an anticipated graduation date in 2019
  • Bachelor’s degree with a quantitative focus in Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with SQL
Preferred qualifications:
  • Strong technical skills and education background. Experience with R or Python
  • Prior experience in analytics consulting and/or digital marketing space
  • Distinctive problem solving and structuring skills, with ability to synthesize data into useful formats and bring actionable insights through effective communication
  • Excellent presentation and collaboration skills along with strong written, verbal communications skills with spreadsheet and statistical modeling skills
