Our Trust and Safety team has the critical responsibility of protecting Google's users by ensuring online safety by fighting web abuse and fraud across Google products like Search, Maps, AdWords and AdSense. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic leader. You understand the user's point of view and are passionate about using your combined technical, sales and customer service acumen to protect our users. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google developers and Product Managers to navigate challenging online safety situations and handle abuse and fraud cases at Google speed (read: fast!). The role: Trust & Safety Analyst Intern
As a Trust & Safety intern, you will work within a diverse team on challenging projects with high impact during a 8-12 week full-time paid internship. You will be assigned an intern manager who will help identify project goals, inspire, mentor you and support your professional development. You are passionate about data, and you have an investigative mindset and a flair for spotting patterns and trends. You are proactive, motivated, organized, responsible, innovative. You are also able to work well in a fast-paced, global, cross-functional, and team-oriented environment while demonstrating technical know-how, effective communication and getting things done.
Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with your host manager in observing and taking part in a wide variety of project management activities
  • Execute special projects involving quantitative analysis, industry research and strategy development towards identification of spam and abuse on Google's products and finding scalable solutions for prevention
Minimum qualifications:
  • Be currently enrolled in an MBA graduate program, with an anticipated graduation date in 2019
  • 1 year of prior work experience
Preferred qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience with fraud investigations, fraud risk management, Internet advertising, or e-commerce
  • Knowledge or experience with one coding and/or scripting language (e.g. C/C++, Python, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, Perl, or PHP) and of database structures and/ or working with Unix/Linux
  • Solid understanding of how the Internet works economically, socially, and technically, and an interest in innovation, technology, and Google products
  • Strong communication skills in English to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
