About the internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Tracking client and competitor stories in traditional and digital media
2. Supporting social media campaigns on Twitter and Facebook
3. Creating and updating media lists
4. Brainstorming creative promotions
5. Writing press materials and media pitches
6. Pitching news announcements and following up with media
7. Providing support to four to five client accounts, as well as new business pitches; work may include everything from researching and analyzing client media coverage to administrative support

Other requirements

1. Undergraduate degree in public relations or related field of study (completed or in process)

2. Direct public relations experience (agency experience a plus but not required)

3. Have an interest in journalism, media, and/or marketing

4. Skilled in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

5. Enjoy working in a collaborative, team environment

6. A quick learner with a “can-do” attitude and relentless attention to detail

7. A self-motivated multi-tasker and clear communicator, both written and verbal

8. Active in reporting back to the manager
