About the internship
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Develop a solid theoretical and practical understanding of aerodynamics and fluid flow to guide the analysis and design process.
2. Create 2D and 3D aerodynamic models and set up flow simulations in ANSYS Fluent, focusing on lift, drag, and pressure distribution.
3. Visualize flow behavior using computational techniques such as streamlines, velocity contours, and pressure plots to analyze key performance metrics.
4. Solve flow and drag issues on various aircraft body regions through iterative simulation and analysis.
5. Perform post-processing and results analysis in ANSYS Fluent to validate findings and identify areas for improvement.
6. Investigate the effects of aerodynamic parameters such as Reynolds number, Mach number, and angle of attack to optimize design and performance.
7. Conduct wind tunnel experiments using smoke visualization, tuft testing, and other practical techniques to study flow separation and boundary layer behavior.
8. Address challenges in turbulence modeling, flow separation, and compressible flow analysis.
9. Collaborate with testing and engineering teams to refine designs based on feedback from CFD simulations and wind tunnel experiments.
10. Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and best practices throughout aerodynamic analysis, CFD simulations, and wind tunnel testing.
