KSR Handlooms was founded by Mr. K. Srinivasa Rao in 1997 in Chirala, India as a way of simplifying the process of yarn dyeing to manufacturing the ready to wear ethnic garments at one place. Currently, KSR Handlooms is representing 860 handloom weavers in contemporary Indian handwoven textiles using their traditional craftsmanship with new techniques. KSR Handlooms is managing a larger program that has managed to uplift an entire community by creating new value for an existing and ignored product.
Handloom Saris, though worn by a large number in India, remains an area perceived to have little scope for new explorations, They have adapted traditional designs to make them simple, sophisticated and distinctly contemporary, thereby creating a fresh new aesthetic that is both indigenous and modern.
