We are seeking a passionate and motivated Fashion Design Intern to join our team. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fashion industry while contributing to the creative process of our brand FAADU. This role requires a keen understanding of current fashion trends, excellent design skills, and the ability to translate conceptual ideas into compelling fashion pieces.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Develop original clothing and accessory designs that align with our brand s aesthetic and target market
2. Research current fashion trends, materials, and techniques to stay updated with industry developments
3. Create sketches, prototypes, and samples to present design ideas
4. Collaborate with the design team, patternmakers, and manufacturers to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective for production
5. Select fabrics, embellishments, colors, and textures for each design
6. Conduct fittings and make necessary adjustments to prototypes and samples
7. Prepare technical packs and specifications for production
8. Stay informed about fashion trends and consumer preferences through market research and attending fashion shows
9. Ensure that all designs meet quality standards and timelines for production

1. Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field
2. Strong artistic and design skills with a portfolio of original work
3. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD software
4. Excellent communication and presentation skills
5. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
6. Detail-oriented with a strong understanding of garment construction and manufacturing processes
7. Knowledge of textiles, sewing techniques, and fashion history
8. Ability to multitask and prioritize projects effectively
