Sand Bird, an IITM & Tamil Nadu Government-funded startup, is working to ease the efforts of low-income farmers. Sand Bird is one of the top 25 startups in India to be recognized by UNIDO through FLCTD. Sand Bird's smart electric tiller will have 10x low operational and maintenance costs than conventional engine-powered tillers like VST, KAMCO etc. Farmers no more have to move behind the vehicle in the hot sun for cultivation due to our wireless technologies. Over the next 5 years, Sand Bird has a strong potential to impact the life of 5 lakhs farmer, reduce the import burden of Rs. 48,000 Cr and mitigate 140Mn ton of CO2.
