About the internship
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Conduct research on various intellectual property laws, regulations, and case law to support ongoing cases and projects.
2. Assist in drafting legal documents such as memoranda, briefs, contracts, trademark applications, and patent filings.
3. Help prepare cases by organizing and summarizing case materials, preparing exhibits, and assisting in case strategy development.
4. Communicate with clients, government agencies, and other law firms on behalf of the firm to gather information or provide updates on cases.
5. Accompany attorneys to client meetings, depositions, hearings, and court proceedings to observe and assist as needed.
6. Assist in managing intellectual property portfolios, including tracking deadlines, maintaining records, and coordinating filings.
7. Assist in conducting due diligence reviews for intellectual property transactions, mergers, and acquisitions.
8. Conduct trademark and patent searches to assess the availability and registrability of intellectual property assets.
9. Provide general administrative support such as maintaining filing systems, scheduling appointments, and managing correspondence.
10. Stay informed about developments in intellectual property law, industry trends, and relevant legal news to contribute effectively to the firm's work.
