About the internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Handling cruelty complaints under the guidance of Smt. Maneka Gandhi
2. Providing legal advice for animal-related matters
3. Coordinating and organising rescues (of animals in distress)
4. Coordinating with authorities and other organisations in response to the complaints received about animal cruelty from different parts of the countries.

About People For Animals

People For Animals, also known as PFA, is India's largest animal welfare organization with a nationwide network of 26 hospitals, 165 units, and 2.5 lakh members. We work to rescue and rehabilitate sick and needy animals. We set up and run shelters, ambulance services, sterilization programs, treatment camps, and disaster rescue missions for animals. We conduct educational programs in schools, fight cases in court, and lobby on animal issues in the parliament. At present, we have a nationwide network of 165 units, 26 hospitals, and 60 mobile units. PFA aims to have an animal welfare center in each of the nation's 600 districts. The head office is at 14 Ashoka Road, New Delhi- 110001.
