About Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra

Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra (PMBJK) is a government initiative in India aimed at providing quality medicines at affordable prices to the masses. Launched under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), these Kendra (stores) are established across the country to make medicines easily accessible to people.

The main objectives of PMBJK are:
1. Affordability
2. Accessibility

The stores sell a wide range of medicines, including those for chronic and non-chronic diseases, and are operated by private individuals, organizations, or NGOs. By promoting the use of generic medicines, the program also helps raise awareness about the benefits and cost-effectiveness of generics compared to branded drugs.
