About the internship
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Understanding Cell Cycling and Data Collection including charge/discharge cycles and health metrics.
2. Set up and operate lab equipment like cyclers and battery testing setups while adhering to safety protocols and collect and log data related to charge/discharge cycles, voltage, current, temperature, and capacity degradation.
3. Experimentation with Different Charging Profiles and conduct baseline tests using standard charging profiles to establish reference performance metrics.
4. Design and execute experiments with various fast-charging profiles, optimising parameters such as current rates, charging times, and rest interval.
5. Analyse the impact of different profiles on battery lifecycle, focusing on both short-term capacity and long-term health.
6. Evaluate cycle performance data to determine efficiency, cycle life, and capacity degradation rates and develop basic predictive models (potentially utilising Machine Learning) for estimating lifecycle impacts based on charging profiles.
7. Identify optimal charging curves using data-driven approaches to balance speed and battery longevity.
8. Maintain detailed documentation of experiments, methodologies, and results and prepare interim and final reports summarising key findings and recommended practices.
9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore machine learning applications in battery health monitoring.

About EMO Energy
EMO's mission is to enable net zero emissions by implementing battery-powered solutions for high-energy, high-power applications. EMO has developed ZEN, a proprietary battery tech platform that ensures 100% fire safety, a 20-minute fast charge, and 120% longer life. The platform's first application in production is ZEN PAC, an AIS-certified battery pack for two and three-wheelers, offering fleet operators a 10x improvement in total cost of ownership (TCO).
