This work would be as a volunteer and only people with a medical background are requested to apply. However, in case you are not from a medical background and still would like to contribute to Wikipedia, there is a different scope of engagement. Inform.
Wikipedia has a huge readership especially with respect to health-related information. Both professionals, as well as laypeople, read health information on Wikipedia and it is important to ensure the quality of such information. Since ILAE (International League Against Epilepsy) plays a pivotal role with respect to work in the field of epilepsy, the ILAE Wikipedia Epilepsy Project is an initiative to ensure the scientific accuracy of the information on epilepsy-related articles on Wikipedia. Wikipedia editors work as volunteers and therefore the position is without a stipend. However, you would receive credits for your work and there are other perks involved.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Educate oneself with the norms of Wikipedia editing
2. Work within the scope of articles under WikiProject Epilepsy
3. Communicate with reviewers about a to do list for the existing articles
4. Lookup relevant academic articles that the appropriate taskforces of ILAE think
pertinent and important
5. Make the requisite changes to the respective articles to improve the quality of the articles, especially with respect to scientific accuracy
Only those candidates can apply who:
1. are available for the work from home job/internship
2. can start the work from home job/internship between 22nd Nov'21 and 30th Dec'21
3. are available for duration of 3 months
4. have relevant skills and interests
