Observer Research Foundation offers internships for scholars/students from diverse backgrounds but with mandatory skills in English language to work on a range of projects of national and international importance.

ORF was established on 5 September 1990 as a private, not for profit, 'think tank' to influence public policy formulation. The Foundation brought together, for the first time, leading Indian economists and policymakers to present An Agenda for Economic Reforms in India
About the Internship:
The selected intern(s) will work on following during the internship:

1. Copyediting will involve correcting spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax; fact checking and verifying information pertaining to data, charts, graphs; ensuring consistency in spelling, hyphenation, numerals, fonts, etc; flagging awkward / unclear / ambiguous phrasing; and ensuring internal consistency of content. Proofreading will involve going over formatted copy to detect errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar and format.
2. Quantitative researcher (health) will be responsible to conduct research with a broad understanding of health and nutrition challenges of India, and analyse large-scale survey data
Who can apply:
Only those candidates can apply who:
  1. are available for full time (in-office) internship
  2. are available for duration of 0 month (preferred, not mandatory)
  3. have relevant skills and interests
  4. have already graduated or are currently in any year of study
Other requirements:
  1. Quantitative researcher (Health) -
  2. - A strong background in applied quantitative research and at least two years experience.
  3. - The candidate should be proficient in the use of STATA and familiar with major datasets in health like NSSO, NFHS, DLHS and AHS.
  4. Copywriter -
  5. - Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or similar area
  6. - At least 2+ years of work experience as copyeditor; work experience in research / academic / publishing environments preferred
  7. - Excellent command over the English language (grammar / usage)
  8. - Eye for accuracy and attention to detail
  9. - Ability to deliver in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  10. - Excellent command over Microsoft Word
  11. - Ease with PDF readers required
  12. - Interest in current event and international affairs preferred

1. This is a rolling basis internship-- applications are accepted round the year.
