Product Design Part Time Internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Attend regular collaborative meetings with the project director to brainstorm and refine project designs, product lines, & marketing strategies for selling upcycled products
2. Design and create product samples for the women to reference
3. Travel to the village to meet with the women we partner with (transportation costs & logistics costs covered by Ecowrap)
4. Assist the project MUSKAAN director in training and coaching our rural partners as needed

Skills & Requirements:

1. An innovative and resourceful designer who is able to think & create outside the box and has a vision for sustainable products & sustainable development (demonstrated passion for designing for social or environmental causes a plus)
2. A graduate or undergraduate design student with at least 2 years of demonstrated design experience (a background in interior design or furniture would be an asset to the project)
3. A collaborative learner who is willing to brainstorm and co-create alongside the project director
4. A humble and culturally-sensitive designer who will work respectfully alongside women in traditional rural communities
5. An attentive listener who is able to accept feedback, and help implement design changes in order to meet the project's needs
6. Language requirements: Spoken Hindi & English (interviews will be held in English), knowledge of Marwari would be beneficial but not required
