About the internship
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities:
1. Assist children (clients diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, etc.) in school during school hours by implementing targeted intervention strategies to enhance skills in behavior, concentration, academics, and social interactions.
2. Develop goals, intervention plans, and monthly progress reports to track and ensure the child's developmental progress.
3. Provide daily reports to parents detailing the child's behavior, performance at school, and the intervention strategies used.
4. Focus on skill development rather than managing physical limitations (e.g., wheelchairs).
5. Work with a client assigned to a school near the candidate's residence to facilitate easy travel.
6. Undergo intensive initial training provided by the company to meet the required standards for being an effective therapist/counselor for special children.
Later Assignment: Based on performance during the shadow assignment, take on additional responsibilities such as one-on-one remedial, therapy, or counseling sessions. Independently conduct sessions under the guidance of senior professionals, addressing the specific needs of clients and ensuring effective outcomes.
