About the internship
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Project coordination: Assisting in the planning, executing, and monitoring of ongoing projects related to inclusive education, rehabilitation, and empowerment.
2. Research and documentation: Conducting research on best practices, compiling data, and preparing reports to support project objectives.
3. Report and research writing: Assisting in drafting, editing, and finalizing reports and research papers that highlight project outcomes, challenges, and recommendations.
4. Community engagement: Helping organize workshops, training sessions, and awareness campaigns to promote the rights and needs of persons with visual impairments.
5. Administrative support: Assisting in day-to-day administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, maintaining project files, and communicating with stakeholders.
6. Outreach and networking: Engaging with partner organizations, donors, and volunteers to build and strengthen SAKSHAM's network and support base.
7. Communications: Developing and executing communication strategies to promote project initiatives, update stakeholders, and enhance public awareness about the organization's mission.

Other requirements
1. An understanding of photo and video editing software, such as Canva, would be considered a plus.
2. Must be open to travel.
3. Should be a graduate or postgraduate in social work, sociology, social sciences, or mass communication.

About Saksham
Established in 2003, with the sole purpose of empowering persons with blindness, Saksham has always believed in limiting limitations through providing assistive devices and training to use those devices and has made many of visually impaired 'Saksham'. The organization is also working to make cinema accessible for persons with visual and hearing impairments. An online library that provides access to books to persons with print disabilities is one of the huge successes of the organization. Saksham also has a school for children with blindness and multiple disabilities with the vision to provide special training, additional attention, and the specialized education they need. The organization is leaving no stone unturned to achieve its aim to empower persons with visual empowerment and to build a sensitized and motivated society that acknowledges the value of interdependence and appreciates the abilities of persons with disabilities and willingly provides equal opportunities for all.
