About the internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Dive into the sophisticated Linux kernel and witness the collaborative efforts of thousands of developers
2. Gain hands-on experience with u-boot, C/C++ programming, and various Linux driver development (e.g., camera, display, USB, UART, power management)
3. Master kernel module development, GUI creation, and various intricacies of Linux systems

What You Will Work On: As a crucial member of our team, you'll be working on our flagship product, VAAMAN (Learn more at https://vicharak.in/vaaman). VAAMAN represents the next generation of accelerator boards, making it an exciting venture. Additionally, we're actively engaged in developing a series of processor-based boards, enhancing Linux kernels, creating drivers, and building various systems. If you're passionate about operating systems and eager to contribute to our innovative projects, we want you on our team.

Other requirements

1. Knowledge/familiarity with intermediate to advanced knowledge of C, C++ and the underlying ABI.

2. Knowledge/familiarity with GCC/Clang and its usage.

3. Knowledge of Python (NumPy/TensorFlow/PyTorch/SciPy).

4. Knowledge/familiarity with building programs from the source.

5. Knowledge/familiarity with Git (or any other version control system), CI/CD.

6. Possess the ability to adapt quickly.

7. Be able to read, understand, or read white papers/research articles.

8. Be an independent learner.

9. Understanding of software design patterns and software engineering.

10. Bonus: Understanding HDL and FPGAs.

11. Bonus: Understanding compiler frameworks (LLVM, MLIR, etc.).

12. Preference for someone who is willing to join as a full-time employee after the internship.

Computers are slowing down due to increased usage by artificial intelligence and machine learning programs, which consume more memory space. There is a demand for faster computers to run software more quickly for increased productivity. All current CPUs use Von Neumann architecture, limiting parallel computing capabilities and hindering software acceleration, resulting in scalability challenges and higher costs.
