About the internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
2. preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
3. Developing and managing budgets for various projects and the overall company.
4. Conducting financial forecasting and providing insights to support strategic planning and decision-making.
5. Tracking and reporting on project-specific financial performance, including cost analysis and profitability assessments.
6. Ensuring that project expenses are accurately recorded and within budget.
7. Preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
8. Staying updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the interior design industry.
9. Managing relationships with vendors and clients regarding invoicing, payments, and financial inquiries.
10. Ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and following up on outstanding payments.
11. Implementing and maintaining effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
12. Conducting periodic audits to ensure compliance with established procedures and policies.
13. Utilizing accounting software (e.g., Tally) and project management tools specific to the interior design industry.
14. Demonstrating proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.

Note: This is an offline internship. The candidate must have their own laptop and work from the office.

Other requirements

1. Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

2. Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience, preferably in the interior design industry.

3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting.

4. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

5. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

8. CPA or relevant certification is a plus.

9. Experience with project accounting in the interior design or related industry.

10. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial records and reports.

11. Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and forecasting.

12. Industry knowledge: familiarity with the financial aspects of the interior design industry.

13. Communication: Effective communication skills to interact with vendors, clients, and team members.

14. Problem-Solving: Ability to address and resolve financial challenges effectively.

15. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
