Video Editing/ Film-Making Internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Receiving a brief, and maybe an outline of footage and/or a shot list, script, or screenplay
2. Recording video, assembling all raw footage, with camera shots, either recorded or transferred onto video tape in preparation for inputting into the computer
3. Inputting uncut rushes and sound, and synchronizing and storing them into files on the computer
4. Cutting files digitally to put together the sequence of the film and deciding what's usable
5. Creating a 'rough cut' (or assembly edit) of the program/film and determining the exact cutting for the next and final stages
6. Reordering and fine-tuning the content to ensure the logical sequencing and smooth running of the film/video
7. Overseeing the quality and progress of audio and video engineering and editing
8. Experimenting with styles and techniques including the design of graphic elements
9. Writing voiceover/commentary
10. Suggesting or selecting music
