The Institute of Perception Studies (IPS) is a Delhi-based non-profit organization non-governmental organization (NGO) that works for poverty alleviation and rural and urban distress reforms. We work amongst farmers, women, and migrant workers. IPS researches rural and urban distress. In the past, research has identified gaps in welfare and identified structured interventions through Rural Distress Reports (RDRs) and Urban Distress Reports (UDRs). While the UDRs have assessed poverty and unemployment in the slums of Delhi, the RDRs have tracked farmer suicide households and farmer households in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana. IPS also works on media news debate analysis through its campaign Rate The Debate in addition to a rights-oriented campaign called the Hakku initiative in Telangana.
