Job Title: MERN Stack Intern for Android App Development (Remote, Part-Time)
Job Description:
We are looking for a motivated and talented intern to convert our web-based MERN stack project into an Android application. This is a remote, part-time position with flexible working hours, requiring a commitment of at least 6 hours per day.
Responsibilities:
Day 1-2:
1. Onboarding and understanding the existing MERN stack project.
2. Setting up the development environment for Android app development.
Daily Activities:
Code Conversion:
1. Translate the existing web functionalities into Android-native features.
2. Develop Android UI components using React Native or Android Studio, depending on the project's requirements.
3. Ensure that the mobile app UI/UX closely matches the existing web application design.
API Integration:
1. Connect the Android app with existing backend services using RESTful APIs.
2. Handle data storage and retrieval using appropriate local storage techniques.
Testing & Debugging:
1. Conduct unit tests and debug the Android app.
2. Regularly review code to ensure optimization and performance improvements.
Collaboration & Communication:
1. Attend daily/bi-daily stand-up meetings for progress updates.
2. Collaborate with the tech lead to resolve any technical challenges.
3. Provide daily reports on progress, challenges, and next steps.
Weekly Activities:
Progress Review:
1. Participate in weekly review meetings to present progress and gather feedback.
2. Refactor code and implement changes based on feedback from weekly reviews.
Final Weeks:
1. Final testing and bug fixing.
2. Assist with deployment to the Google Play Store (if applicable).
3. Documentation of the entire process for future reference.
