About the work from home job/internship

We are looking for a passionate and creative game design intern to join our team and help design a new game set in historical India. You'll work directly with the game's lead designer to research, write, and develop the game's mechanics, stories, and world. This role focuses heavily on reading, writing, and research there is no programming or coding involved. Instead, you'll be responsible for helping create the game's design documents, outlining in-game missions, units, buildings, and mechanics, while ensuring everything remains historically accurate and engaging for players. If you enjoy reading about history and love playing games, this is the perfect opportunity to combine both passions! As the first hire on this project, you'll have a significant say in how the game evolves over the next few months. Your key task will be writing and iterating on design documents, brainstorming ideas, and helping shape the game from the ground up.

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Research historical events and themes (especially in Indian history) and brainstorm creative ways to implement them into enjoyable gameplay.
2. Write and structure game design documents, which include mission descriptions, game mechanics, unit types, and building functionalities.
3. Work with the lead designer to develop game mechanics such as resource management systems, unit progression, and building interactions.
4. Edit and iterate on design docs, constantly improving the narrative flow and historical accuracy based on feedback.
5. Explore successful games in related genres to analyze how they handle similar game mechanics and suggest improvements for our own design.
6. Playtest early designs (using prototypes or paper-based designs) and give feedback on balance, game flow, and fun factors.

We're looking for someone who loves learning about history, enjoys writing detailed narratives and describing game mechanics, and most importantly loves games!
