This is not your 'generalist' role where you sit on a laptop and do some tasks. Instead, if you love talking to people, exploring your city, and documenting their stories, there might be a fit. You'll work as a journalist (without the stress), who will talk to 'small business owners' in your area - think of your kone wale kirana uncle, your barber bhaia, and such people.
What will you talk to them? Basically, you will explore and document their business journey and thoughts on running a small business in 2024.
This role combines elements of journalism, market research, and digital advocacy to shed light on the challenges and opportunities facing small-town entrepreneurs in the digital age.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Identify and connect with small business owners and shopkeepers in Indian towns.
2. Conduct in-depth interviews to understand their perspectives on running their business and challenges with digitalization.
3. Explore and document the challenges these businesses face in adopting digital technologies.
4. Record interviews, take photographs, and create written content to tell their stories.
5. Assist interviewees in creating free digital business cards as part of our digital literacy initiative.
6. Compile and present findings in a clear, engaging format for various audiences.
