About the work from home job/internship
We are seeking an innovative Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and prototyping of various products. This role requires a deep understanding of plastic material properties, mechanical systems, and prototyping techniques to create a high-performance, durable, and user-friendly solution. The candidate should be skilled at conceptualizing designs, simulating functionality, and delivering prototypes for evaluation and iteration.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Develop 3D models and detailed engineering drawings to illustrate the product's form and function.
2. Design mechanical systems such as linear motion mechanisms, rotary components, and button-actuation systems.
3. Use simulation tools to predict the product's behavior under various loads, stresses, and environmental conditions.:
4. Analyze and select appropriate plastic materials based on requirements for strength, durability, and resistance to wear, chemicals, and environmental factors.
5. Perform detailed calculations and simulations to validate material suitability.
6. Build virtual prototypes and conduct motion and stress analysis using CAD tools.
7. Create physical prototypes using advanced 3D printing techniques or other rapid prototyping methods.
8. Evaluate prototype performance, identify improvements, and implement refinements.
9. Design for manufacturability, ensuring that components can be efficiently mass-produced through injection molding or other suitable techniques.
10. Work with suppliers and manufacturers to transition designs from prototype to production-ready.

Other requirements

3. Strong understanding of plastic properties, including load-bearing capacity, stress tolerance, and environmental resistance.
4. Hands-on experience with 3D printing, rapid prototyping, and validation testing.
