About the work from home job/internship
This position is for an animator and/or social media manager at the community called Stories by Strangers.
It is an online support community and a safe space for victims of sexual and mental abuse. It allows people to share their stories anonymously and some of them are collaboratively turned into animations to be viewed by the public. The animations aim to disrupt the flow of desensitized media about mental health and abuse against women. They are posted on social media platforms to find the good side of social media and translate that into a safe space while maintaining anonymity.

Selected interns' day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Creating 2 short 2D animations per week within the existing style of the project. You can use any animating software as long as it resembles the existing design. Each animation will range between 20 seconds to 1 minute.
2. Monitoring social media stats and creating a strategy based on the changing algorithm. There is a lot of room for experimentation here.
3. Ideating weekly animated content based on social media trends and posting animation on YouTube shorts.
Note: The rest of the responsibilities are up to the candidate as it is a self-driven position with the ability to work on new ideas based on the portfolio they are trying to build.
Even though this is a 1-month Internship, there is a possibility of extending based on the performance.

1. An ideal candidate would be someone passionate about social justice, promoting safety for women, and advocating for mental health.
2. Preferred software for animation: Procreate, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premier Pro.

About Nitya Mehrotra
Nitya is a documentary filmmaker, community leader, and animator. She founded a community of 40,000 people called Stories by Strangers which aims to facilitate educational conversations.
She was the recipient of the best cinematographer award at the Shawna Shea Festival, three best photo journalism awards from the Illinois College Press Association in Chicago, the women in Media Full Scholarship at the Met Film School in Berlin, and the New Artists Full Scholarship at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She also received the Award of Excellence at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her short films have gone to Oscar-qualifying festivals like Flicker's Rhode Island International Film Festival, along with the Shawna Shea Film Festival, and the Pune Short Film Festival. Her directorial work includes companies like the Indian Premier League, Jouska Films, and Vatika Dabur. She has been featured in the Chicago Tribune, Homegrown, and Newsmagazine.
