We are looking for skilled transcribers to convert audio data from Sindhi to Perso-Arabic script. As a transcriber, your primary responsibility will be to accurately transcribe spoken content into written form and vice-versa.
Requirements:
1. Language Proficiency: Candidates must be proficient in either Sindhi or Perso-Arabic, with preference given to those fluent in both languages. Fluency in both languages is highly desirable
2. Native Speaker: Candidates must be native speakers of Sindhi, Perso-Arabic, or both. They should have a deep understanding of the nuances, accents, and cultural contexts of these languages
3. Age Limit: Applicants should be under 60 years of age
4. Candidates should be natives of places where either Sindhi or Perso-Arabic are commonly spoken. Some examples of such places include:
For Sindhi: Sindh province in Pakistan, parts of India such as Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra
For Perso-Arabic: Regions in the Middle East and North Africa where Arabic script is used, including countries like Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, UAE, Qatar, etc.
5. Recording Device: Candidates must have access to a reliable recording device such as a digital recorder or a smartphone with recording capabilities and the device should capture clear audio quality to ensure accurate transcription
6. Recording Environment: Quiet Space: Transcribers should work in a quiet environment free from background noise or distractions and this ensures accurate transcription and maintains confidentiality

Stipend structure: This is a performance-based internship. In addition to the minimum-assured stipend, you will also be paid a performance-linked incentive (₹ 50 per hour transcription).
