Safecity (registered as Red Dot Foundation) has been crowdsourcing personal experiences of sexual violence in public spaces since Dec 2012. We have been quite successful in collating over 25000+ stories from all over India, Kenya, and Nepal.
We aim to identify location-based trends and inspire individual and community-based action to improve neighborhood safety. We have quite a few success stories around India and Kenya and our experience has been that the police have been proactive in taking action, like changing beat patrol timings, etc.
