About the work from home job/internship
As a Volunteer Game Developer Intern at Eklavya, you will play a crucial role in creating engaging educational games to enhance the learning experience.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Designing and developing HTML5/JavaScript-based games focused on interactivity and education.
2. Creating diverse games such as interactive storytelling, drag-and-drop puzzle games, spot the difference, quiz and trivia games, matching games, sorting and classification games, educational flashcard games, and maze or path-finding games.
3. Assisting in the development of a custom game editor by adding customizable elements like text, shapes, images, and animations, implementing drag-and-drop functionality for game creation, and designing intuitive interfaces for educators and non-technical users.
4. Implementing core game features, including scoring systems, timers, levels, and player progress tracking, as well as enabling interactive features like freehand drawing, hotspot detection, and multi-touch gestures for mobile compatibility.
5. Collaborating with the content team to design games that meet educational goals, working with graphic designers to create visually appealing assets, and providing feedback on user experience with suggestions for improvements.
6. Testing games on multiple devices to ensure compatibility, debugging issues related to performance, responsiveness, and interactivity, and ensuring an optimal user experience.

Other requirements
1. Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
2. Experience with libraries/frameworks such as React, Konva.js, or Fabric.js (preferred).
3. Familiarity with game design concepts and browser-based rendering techniques, including Canvas API, WebGL, or SVG.
4. Creativity and passion for developing engaging games for children.
5. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
6. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
7. Prior experience in game development through personal projects or internships.
8. Knowledge of creating responsive and accessible web applications.
9. Exposure to educational or child-friendly design principles.

Additional information
Stipend structure: This is a performance-based internship. In addition to the minimum-assured stipend, you will also be paid a performance-linked incentive (₹ 100 per game).
