The role of purchase management is crucial within an organization, as they are responsible for the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Strategic Procurement: Developing and implementing purchasing strategies that align with the company's goals.
2. Conducting market research to identify trends and potential suppliers.
3. Analyzing spending patterns and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
4. Supplier Management: Identifying, evaluating, and selecting reliable suppliers.
5. Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing and delivery schedules.
6. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers.
7. Monitoring supplier performance and addressing any issues that arise.
8. Procurement Operations: Processing purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
9. Managing inventory levels and forecasting future needs.
10. Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
11. Managing the purchasing budget.
12. Contract Management: Reviewing and managing contracts with vendors.
13. Ensuring the contracts are adhered to, by both the company, and the vendor.
14. Team Leadership: Often, purchase managers will have a team that they are responsible for. This means they will be responsible for the training, and the management of those team members.
15. Quality Control: Ensuring that the goods and services that are purchased, meet the required quality standards.
