About the work from home job/internship

Key Responsibilities:

1. Social Media Content Creation: Assist in conceptualizing, creating and editing reels/video content for social media. This will involve co-ordinating with the internal team to gather stories and brainstorm ideas
2. Video Content Creation: Assist in conceptualizing, creating and editing videos and teasers based on initiatives such as SMC formation, training, Mega PTM etc. This will involve coordinating with the internal team to gather stories and brainstorm ideas
3. Translation and Transcription: Translate and transcribe video content (primarily 20 minute long interviews) from its original language(s) (Hindi) into the target language(s) (English) accurately and effectively. Ensure that the translated/transcribed text maintains the tone, context, and message of the original content
4. Incorporate music, dialogue, captions, graphics, and effects to enhance the quality of videos.
5. Assist in editing video footage according to project requirements and deadlines..
6. Cut and assemble raw footage into cohesive and visually appealing videos.

The best way to preserve our democracy is to take part in it.

Samarthya was started in February 2017 with this belief. From then on, we are in pursuit of strengthening existing structures and practices that promote public participation, primarily in the context of public education. Samarthya works to inculcate and improve participatory governance practices in public schools. We do so by activating platforms for local collective dialogue and action and fostering voice and agency in stakeholders to actively participate in these platforms.

Our work focuses on supporting state governments in the formation and working of existing platforms such as School Management Committees (SMCs) in government run schools. Section 21 of the Right To Education Act envisions the SMC as part of a decentralized governance model and empowers the members to support and monitor the functioning of the schools

Currently, Samarthya works in the states of Punjab, Haryana and Nagaland.
