Statement of Purpose (SOP): Coffee Shop Internship Program
Program Overview: Duration: 3 months
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Objective: Improve experience in coffee shop operations, customer service, and business management.
2. Intern Roles: customer interaction.
3. Front-of-House: Customer service
4. Back-of-House: Inventory management, food preparation audit, and cleaning audit.
5. Benefits: Practical skills development.
6. Exposure to the coffee industry.
7. Networking opportunities.
Internship Structure:
1. Orientation (Week 1): Introduction to the coffee shop, team, and policies.
2. Overview of roles and responsibilities.
3. Safety and hygiene training.
4. Rotations (Weeks 2-8): Interns rotate through different roles audits (barista, front-of-house, back-of-house).
5. Hands-on training under supervision.
6. Weekly progress assessments.
7. Project Work (Weeks 9-12): Each intern selects a project related to coffee shop improvement (e.g., menu revamp, social media strategy, cost reduction).
8. Regular check-ins with mentors.
9. Final Presentation (Week 13): Interns present their projects to the management team. Feedback and recommendations.

About Specialty Coffee India
Specialty Coffee India draws inspiration from the coffee culture of Melbourne, with its rainbow coffees, deconstructed lattes, communal tables, and unique cafes, which take on the spirit of the neighborhood that they are ensconced within. Co-founder, Narendra, wanted to recreate a similar vibe in Delhi when he returned after spending 10 years in Melbourne, and that's how Coffee Bond came about.
-I saw how small businesses, run by driven and passionate individuals, made Melbourne into a most liveable city. These small businesses were interconnected a person making cheese would supply to a friend's bakery, who would supply the baked goodies to another friend's caf,- says Narendra, who saw this interconnected web of associations being created to increase customer experience as well, and inspired him to start a specialty coffee shop.
