Job Purpose: The structural design engineer is responsible for evaluating the designs produced by the design team, correcting and advising on necessary changes, overseeing construction projects, and ensuring the structures are safe and capable of withstanding the elements.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Design Development: Develop detailed designs of structures using specialized software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and STAAD.Pro
2. Structural Analysis: Conduct structural analysis to calculate the pressures, stresses, and strains that each component of a structure will experience from other parts of the structure due to human use or environmental pressures
3. Project Management: Coordinate with project managers, designers, and other construction professionals to ensure projects are completed successfully on time and within budget
4. Quality Assurance: Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety standards

1. A bachelors degree in civil engineering or a related field.
2. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
3. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and STAAD.Pro.
4. Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
5. Excellent communication and project management skills.
6. A minimum of 3 years of experience in structural design engineering or a related field.
