This remote position with Solvitude offers an opportunity to contribute to accessible education. As an Alt-Text Writer, you will create detailed and descriptive alt-text for Chemistry visuals, including molecular diagrams, chemical equations, graphs, and illustrations. Your work will ensure that visually impaired learners can access educational content effectively, adhering to accessibility standards.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Develop clear and precise ALT TEXT for Chemistry topics, including chemical equations, molecular structures, charts, and other related educational images.
2. Collaborate closely with team members to ensure that all content aligns with accessibility guidelines and industry standards.
3. Review and refine alt-text with input from the quality team to maintain high-quality content.
4. Understand the context of images within the accompanying text to determine their significance and select appropriate technical terms.
5. Ensure that all ALT TEXT descriptions are concise, grammatically correct, and meet quality standards.
6. Analyze Chemistry textbooks and reference materials to craft accurate and relevant content descriptions.
7. Review alt-text within templates or platforms provided to ensure compliance with specific job instructions and accessibility best practices.
8. Ensure that all written deliverables meet standards for spelling, grammar, and overall content suitability.
