About the work from home job/internship
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Write and maintain Python scripts using libraries like Selenium and BeautifulSoup to automate data extraction from Google Maps.
2. Update scripts based on changes in website structure to ensure data is consistently and accurately extracted.
3. Use Regular Expressions and BeautifulSoup to parse HTML and extract structured data from raw HTML responses.
4. Clean, organize, and structure extracted data using Pandas to remove duplicates, correct inconsistencies, and handle missing data.
5. Transform raw data into standardized formats (e.g., CSV, JSON) for easier analysis and storage.
6. Identify and handle challenges such as CAPTCHAs, IP rate limits, and session-based restrictions.
7. Regularly check the accuracy of extracted data to ensure it aligns with expected standards.
8. Perform data validation tests and compare data with source material to maintain quality.
9. Maintain clear documentation of scraping scripts, methods, and processes for easy reference and updates.
10. Prepare daily or weekly reports summarizing the data extraction progress, any issues encountered, and key data insights.
11. Share updates with the team, highlighting any challenges or adjustments needed.
12. Ensure adherence to Google Maps' Terms of Service and company guidelines for data usage.
13. Stay informed on ethical scraping practices and data privacy considerations.
